K-W Classic Road Race, Hidden Valley Road, Kitchener – Sunday June 12, 2005
SISU Ontario Cup Road Series #3

ExtremeRoad.com is pleased to present the eighteenth annual K-W Classic Road Race on Sunday June 12, 2005 in Kitchener, Ontario. This is race #3 of the prestigious SISU Ontario Cup Road Series, co-sponsored by PeakXL.

One of the most popular road circuits in Ontario, the classic Hidden Valley Road loop is the venue once again for this venerable race. The race course follows a rolling 4.6 km circuit featuring two climbs per lap plus a sharp S-curve leading into a corner at the top of the finishing straight, making for an exciting finish for both riders and spectators.

Cash prizes total over $3500.00.

New for 2005: Pre-registration is available. On-line pre-registration is available at www.canadiancyclist.com at a discounted entry fee. On-line pre-registration closes at midnight Wednesday June 8. Regular entry fee prices apply if registering on race day.

New for 2005: Team Ontario selection for the Canada Summer Games. For 2005, this event also doubles as a selection event for the Canada Summer Games. Eligible riders will be competing for a limited number of spots on the provincial Summer Games team that will represent Ontario at the Canada Summer Games in Regina this August. Eligible riders should contact the OCA in advance to arrange their participation in this selection event.

New for 2005: Pre-registration for the Provincial Road Championships will be accepted in person at the K-W Classic. In addition to on-line pre-registration for the Provincial Road Championships on June 26, there will be a special booth set up at the K-W Classic on June 12 where you can conveniently drop off your completed mail-in pre-registration form and payment for the June 26 race. You can print off an entry form by going to www.extremeroad.com and clicking through to the information page for the Provincial Road Championships. Both cash and personal cheques will be accepted. Please note that pre-registration for the Provincial Road Race is mandatory. There will not be any day-of registration for this event on June 26.

Registration
Registration opens at 7h00 and closes 20 mins. before the start of each race. UCI Licensed riders as well as Under-17 age riders with OCA Citizen Permits are eligible to register. Unlicensed riders may register by purchasing a One Event Race Permit for an additional $10.00. U.S riders with Domestic licences are required to purchase a One-Event Race permit. An OCA representative will be on-site to handle licensing issues.

Video Finish System
The ExtremeRoad.com Video Finish System will be used for timing and computerized results.

Race Numbers
Riders are expected to supply their own OCA-issued SISU road race numbers. For those without OCA numbers, there will be temporary numbers available for a refundable deposit of $5. Please bring your assigned numbers to registration & sign-on. Also note that if you were issued numbers in the range 1-99 at a previous race that those numbers cannot be used at this race. Please contact the OCA if you are unsure of your assigned road race number.

Directions
From Toronto, take Hwy 401 west and exit at Hwy 8 to Kitchener. Take the Fairway Rd exit and turn right onto King St E for 1 block, then right on Fairway Rd. Go approx. 1.5 km then turn left on Wilson Ave. Go 0.5 km, then turn left on Goodrich Dr. Follow signs to Parking and Registration from Goodrich Dr.

From London, take Hwy 401 east and exit at Regional Rd 8 (King St E) to Kitchener. Follow King St E for 6 km then turn left on Fairway Rd. Follow the directions as above from Fairway Rd.

The race day long-range weather outlook for Kitchener-Waterloo calls for calm winds and a high of 25 degrees with the possibility of occasional light rain to help cool things down a bit.
