Online Registration for BC Superweek

Riders can now register on-line for BC Superweek, Canada's richest week of bike racing (July 15-24), by visiting www.bcsuperweek.com.

Based in and around Vancouver, Canada, BC Superweek features seven races in 10 days, including the Tour de Delta (July 15-17), the Tour de Gastown (July 20), and the Tour de White Rock (July 22-24).

In 2004, North America's top cycling teams, including Navigators, Health Net, Jelly Belly, Jittery Joes, Sierra Nevada, Symmetrics, Quark and Rona competed for $50,000 in cash prizes.

At the Tour de Gastown alone, 30,000 spectators turned out to watch cycling greats Henk Vogels, Gord Fraser, Tyler Farrar, Marty Nothstein, Sarah Uhl and Alison Sydor race for a chance to add their names to a stellar list of past champions that includes six-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong.

The early registration deadline for all races is July 1, 2005.


GIANT SpeedSeries for Youth

Geared specifically towards youths, grades 8 through 12, the Giant SpeedSeries Learn To Race Clinics provide up-and-coming racers with the essentials of road racing in a fun, relaxed environment from enthusiastic local, certified coaches.

These comprehensive, one-day Clinics are aimed directly at the entry level, novice rider, and are perfect for riders who would like to take part in upcoming Junior Challenge Race Series Events, or in the 2006 BC Summer Games!

Participants will receive expert instruction in all aspects of bicycle road racing with special emphasis on the skills, tactics and special preparations required to enter the exciting world of bicycle road racing. The Course will start in-class, with discussions on equipment, training and proper bike fit and set up. On-road sessions will get the wheels rolling with cornering, sprinting and climbing skills, progressing to pack riding preparation for racing.

Participants should come prepared with their bicycle (cross-country or road bike), riding gear (Including helmet!) and appropriate gear.

Registrants receive a free Giant SpeedSeries t-shirt, and are entered in a draw to win a 2006 Giant OCR 3!
