Burnaby Velodrome: Volunteers Needed

The Burnaby Velodrome is looking for some skilled volunteers to assist in some track maintenance duties. During the next two weeks (Sept 1 to Sept 15th), Frank Ludtke will be leading a crew to install some new plywood in the corners on the underside of the track. Volunteers will need to be available during the day (time TBD), know how to work with wood, and have access to a battery powered drill (preferable).

Normal riding sessions will not be interrupted during this time. Exact dates and times for work sessions will be determined once Frank receives some names.

Giga-Bike Inc. has signed Dave Zabriskie of Team CSC to a 16-month contract starting September 1, 2005. Giga-Bike is a bicycle training-log software that cyclists can install on their PC and log their training details.

Dave Zabriskie grew up and began his cycling career in Utah. Dave turned pro in 2001 and rode alongside Lance Armstrong on the US Postal Team before moving to CSC in 2004. Dave is the only American cyclist besides Lance Armstrong and Greg Lemond ever to wear the Yellow Jersey in the Tour de France. Dave's winning time-trial in the opening prologue of the 2005 Tour de France was the fastest recorded time in over 100 years of Tour de France history. Dave is the only American to win stages in all three Grand Tours including the Tour de France, Giro D’Italia and the Tour of Spain.
