Cervélo makes screen debut in Overcoming
at Toronto International Film Festival

Cervélo Cycles is pleased to announce that they have a supporting, non-talking role in the new film Overcoming premiering at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival on September 13th.

Cervelo bikes receive a substantial amount of screen time as the exclusive bike ridden by Team CSC, profiled in Danish director Tómas Gislason's Overcoming.

"Unlike other sports there have been very few films that provide an insider's look into the world of professional cycling," said Gerard Vroomen, Cervelo co-founder. "We did venture into this territory during the Tour de France this past July with my partner Phil White's daily podcasts from the Tour. But Overcoming is a feature film that will provide interesting insights and a behind the scenes glimpse of the traditionally closed world of professional cycling. And as you will see in Overcoming, they couldn't have picked a more spectacular team than Team CSC."

With former pro rider, Tour de France winner Bjarne Riis as the protagonist, the film closely follows him and Team CSC as they strive to become the best in the world and win the Tour de France. OVERCOMING is a frank, no-holds-barred portrait of a world few people can imagine: a world in which even the toughest go under as the team strives to realize their ambition.

The drama and excitement come from the mission of forging riders from widely differing backgrounds into a single unit. With the classical narrative from the world of fiction as its pattern, the roles will step into character one by one: the heroes, the villains, the champions, the rivals and the victims. The CSC Team includes: Ivan Basso, Carlos Sastre, Michele Bartoli, Jens Voigt, Bobby Julich, Jacob Piil, and their team building coach, ex-special forces solider B.S.Christiansen.

Overcoming will screen twice at the Toronto International Film Festival.
