Kona Signs on as Sponsor for `Cross Nationals and Aurora `Cross
Kona joins the growing list of sponsors for Canada's biggest weekend of Cyclocross, with the Canadian National Championship (UCI CN) at Hardwood Hills in Barrie, Ontario on Saturday November 5th. And the Aurora Cross (UCI C2) at Lambert Wilson park in Aurora, Ontario on Sunday November 6th. Kona is one of Canada's top bicycle companies and a driving force in cyclocross in North America.
It's great to see cyclocross on the rise in Canada, and with events like these it's going to grow even more. We've seen tremendous growth across the country this year, with participation numbers up in all provinces. Both the Aurora Cross and the National Championship offer challenge categories for first time crossers and allow the use of mountain bikes, for U13, U15, U17, Open men, and Open women all with a reduced entry fee.
The excitement is growing along with the list of riders taking part, with Greg Reain (Stevens Cyclocross team) coming back from his European race campaign and Lynn Bessette (Cyclocrossworld.com ˆLouis Garneau) fresh off her back to back wins in the first 2 rounds of the US Grand Prix of Cyclocross. US rider Tim Johnson (Cyclocrossworld.com ˆLouis Garneau) will also take the start at the Aurora Cross. Full race details and online registration available for both races www.bikeraces.info. Online registration closes Friday November 4th at 6pm. NOTE: Registration fees increase October 25th.
