Forest City Velodrome Fall & Winter Schedule
The Forest City Velodrome is pleased to announce that our Fall - Winter 2005 - 06 Riding schedule is finally completed.
"We looked at the membership and the type of riders who were using the Velodrome and we adjusted our schedule to help the Recreational Riders in the club," said Paul MacLean, who spearheaded the change. In total, over 30 hours per week is dedicated to recreational riding on the track. Two nights each week are set aside for racers, in addition to the regular Saturday night shows.
The Learn to Ride (track 1) sessions are on Tuesday nights & Saturday afternoons. In the schedule there are a total of 8 hours a week for Out of Town clubs to rent the Velodrome for Training Camps & Clinics. These are on Saturday & Sunday mornings.
The Velodrome is off to a very quick start. The need for Volunteers is high on our priority list. Anyone wishing to help out with one of our sessions is requested to contact one of the session leaders at the Velodrome and jump on board.
Please go to www.ForestCityVelodrome.ca Click on "Come ride or race" for the complete update.
In other Velodrome news: The Velo-Kids is already producing young track cyclists that are gaining more & more skills each week. The F.C.V. has purchased 10 Youth sized Track bikes from Marinoni Cycles in Montreal. With the help of a donation from the London Centennial Wheelers, from London, we are in a position to expand our fleet of youth bikes for our Velo-Kids program. They are scheduled to arrive in early December. The track is still in need of funding for these bikes. If you, or your Company, is in a position to help, please contact, rob.good@ypg.com
