Bike Swap and Equipment Sale

December 3rd

The Forest City Velodrome will be hosting a Bike Swap and Equipment Sale on Saturday, December 3, 2005, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and entrance is free of charge. Ten percent of all sales will be donated to the Forest City Velodrome Association. More information can be found here.


`Cross For a Cause

The script could not have been better. It started four weeks ago in nice sunny daylight, and it concluded with the nightly snow flakes falling on the ground at St-Anselme park. Last night was the final of the Mike's Bike Shop `cross for a cause series. It officially concluded the 2006 season for the Mike's Bike Shop Cycling Club and the Atlantic Cycling Centre.

Last night saw, once again, a new winner for the event. Vincent Losier took the stage followed by Charles Cormier and Andre Léger.

After the event, it was time for the awards to be presented. Overall, Patrice Boudreau became the official winner of the series, followed closely by Michelle Chase and René Julien.

As promised, all the registration money will be donated to a good cause, and Patrice picked the United Way Foundation. The Mike's Bike Shop Cycling Club will also match the donation dollar per dollar to double the fund raised.

Thanks to the many volunteers (including Don Ricker for the original idea), Mike's Bike Shop, the Mike's Bike Shop Cycling Club, the City of Dieppe and the National Cycling Centre - Atlantic Canada for putting the event together.

Le scénario n’aurait pas pu être plus parfait. La série Cyclo-cross pour une bonne cause Mike’s Bike Shop a débuté il y a quatre semaine sous un beau soleil et s’est conclue sous les flocons de neige au Parc St-Anselme. L’épreuve d’hier soir marquait officiellement la fin de la saison 2006 pour les

L’étape d’hier soir a envore une fois vue un nouveau gagnant.Vincent Losier a pris la première position suivie de près de Charles Cormier et Andre Léger.

Suite à l’événement se déroulait la remise de prix. Au classement général, Patrice Boudreau à finalement remporté la série, suivie par Michelle Chase et René Julien. Tel que promis, toute l’argent amassé en inscription allait vers une bonne cause, et le vainqueur, Patrice Boudreau a choisie la Fondation Centre Aide. Le Club Cycliste Mike’s Bike Shop quant à lui, doublera la mise sur tous les fonds amassés.
