Toronto Holds Public Meeting to Discuss Proposed BMX Park
A community meeting will take place tomorrow at 7 p.m. to address the proposed BMX facility at Marilyn Bell Park in Toronto. The meeting will be hosted by Councillor Sylvia Watson at the Masaryk Cowan Community Centre, and should be a good opportunity to discuss recreational opportunities for youths, and the planning and design of the proposed park.
The history of this project is a long one, dating back over seven years with several different proposed locations and site designs. This past August, Toronto's city council approved funding for the first phase of the Extreme Sports Park project - the BMX park. The BMX course is to be built to Olympic competition standards on the western waterfront of Marilyn Bell Park.
