CCA Seeks Communications Manager

Position Description:

The Canadian Cycling Association, the national governing body for the sport of cycling in Canada, is seeking a full-time Communications Manager to develop and execute a strategic communication plan for the association. Working in concert with the Director of Marketing and the Chief Operating Officer the selected candidate will be primarily responsible for developing and coordinating the content for the association's web site and for implementing a multi-tiered communications strategy.

The successful candidate will:

* develop and coordinate all public relations efforts for the association
* coordinate the day-to-day operations of cycling information
* build media relations to increase coverage of the CCA's athletes and events
* coordinate the production of all press releases, feature-based cycling stories and other special publications, as needed
* disseminate information, results, success, human interest stories to media and other external communities
* develop and maintain archival information for the association (i.e., individual and team records, major award winners, pictures etc.)
* handle other responsibilities as required in concert with the Director of Marketing

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully implementing similar communications strategies. The CCA is looking for a self-starter with strong written abilities, effective interpersonal skills and experience in public relations. Bilingualism is mandatory and post-secondary education in journalism or communications along with knowledge of cycling will be considered strong assets.

L'Association cycliste canadienne, le corps dirigeant du cyclisme au Canada, est à la recherche d'un gérant/e des communications, à temps plein, qui aura pour mandat de mettre en place une stratégie de communication complète pour l'ACC.

Le candidat potentiel s'occupera de:

* de développer et de coordonner les efforts en relation publique pour l'association
* coordonner de façon journalière les informations reliées au cyclisme
* bâtir des relations avec les medias afin d'augmenter la couverture des événements et des athlètes canadien
* coordonner la production des communiqués de presse associés au cyclisme et aux autres publications associées si demandé
* diffuser l'information sur les résultats, les histoires à succès, les portraits d'athlètes aux médias et aux autres sources pertinentes
* développer et maintenir les archives reliées à l'association (record individuel et d'équipe, remises de prix, photos, etc.)
* assurer d'autres responsabilités connexes en concert avec la Directrice du marketing.

Le candidat ou la candidate idéal possèdera une expérience professionnelle prouvée dans une fonction similaire. L'ACC recherche une personne avec de fortes compétences interpersonnelles. L'expérience en cyclisme et l'éducation post-secondaire en communications marketing ou gestion d'affaires sont des atouts. Le bilinguisme est requis.
