The CAC has redesigned www.coach.ca with a new emphasis on community coaching and the NCCP transition. In a major effort to improve services to coaches, the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) unveiled a redesigned website today with some exciting new features. In addition to information and resources for high performance coaches, CAC has added new sections for community coaches and parents. Recognizing the growing needs of volunteer coaches and parents, CAC hopes the new website will be a valuable resource for the nearly two million Canadians, many of them parents, who volunteer as amateur coaches each year.

"Volunteer coaches are the backbone of the Canadian sport system," says John Bales, President and CEO of CAC. "They are one of our most valuable resources. We need to make sure they are properly equipped to offer our kids a positive sport experience. We hope this website will enhance the skills these coaches are developing through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and offer them the support they need while coaching in their communities."

The new site, redesigned by Dodge Ink Inc., features:

* a searchable database of more than 200 tips and tools for coaches, parents, and community sport organizations.

* nearly 100 frequently asked questions about CAC and the NCCP, including questions about how to become trained and/or certified in the new competency/outcomes-based NCCP.

* a new NCCP Development and Sharing Zone for NCCP partners that contains up-to-date resources, tools, and examples to facilitate the transition to a competency/outcomes-based model.
