The B.C.-based private label bicycle/snowboard manufacturer and distributor A. Mordo & Son has filed for bankruptcy. The 30-year-old company provided brands such as Nakamura, Arashi, Boss, Gravity, Intercycle and Vision to retailers that included Source for Sports, Costco, Sport Mart, Sport Chek, Zellers, and Toys R Us.
A. Mordo & Son was placed into receivership by a secure creditor on November 9, 2009. The company then filed an assignment in bankruptcy on November 18, 2009. The Of- fice of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy Canada records reveal that A. Mordo & Son declared liabilities of $30,611,469 and assets of $11,221,689.
