Sako 7 is proud to announce that they are partnering with Peter Appleton and moving operations from Cape Town, South Africa to Dundas, Ontario, Canada.

SAKO7 are a range of socks, cycling apparel and accessories created by Sean Sakinofsky, a road cyclist originally from Cape Town, South Africa. The name SAKO7 comes from his nickname: Sako and his lucky number 7.

"Sako 7 is very excited to take the next step by creating a co-venture with Peter Appleton and moving to Canada. His experience taking cycling brands to the next level is well known and respected," says Sean Sakinofsky, Sako 7 founder. Recently Peter Appleton was the Cycling Division Manager at POC Sports and was in charge of orchestrating the launch of POC into the road cycling market.

"Sako 7 is one of the freshest brands in road cycling right now, the infusion of their design language and colour story into the more conservative Road cycling segment has been received very well across the globe. From the "Pro-Solitude" model to the "New York Hipster" edition that was influenced by the cult movie "The Gangs of New York" SAKO7 has been able to carve our new niches within the road cycling community. Now it's time to take Sako 7 to the next level with some fabulous new products," replied Peter Appleton.

Over the next year Sako 7 will introduce line extensions and begin implementing more vertical integration, including bringing all distribution in house to be managed by Peter Appleton's SB Sports Inc. SB Sports Inc currently works with Bont Cycling, Sako 7, Dundas Speed Shop and Ritte Cycles.

"Up until now SAKO7SOCKS have been distributed globally by Defeet and their host of international partners. Defeet will remain our manufacturer but all distribution will be handled by SB Sports Inc. We will evaluate existing distribution partners and will also be bringing on new partners. Last year saw almost 55,000 pairs of socks sold in over 40 different countries and we're going to work with that loyal customer base to take the brand to even higher grounds," commented Appleton.

"Lastly, we want to thank Shane Cooper and Brad Mettee from Defeet for their amazing work, expertise and, of course, for their faith and trust in SAKO7SOCKS," said Sean Sakinofsky.

Sako 7 will continue to be available online at www.sako7socks.com and the soon to come www.sako7.com.
